Every locker model: compartment size, hostel rule and price
If your lockers are for a worker hostel, size matters before price. Since 1 September 2020 the Employees’ Minimum Standards of Housing, Accommodations and Amenities (Accommodation and Centralised Accommodation) Regulations 2020, made under Act 446, require each worker in employer-provided accommodation to have their own locked cupboard of at least 0.35 m × 0.35 m × 0.9 m for valuables, passport included (Skrine summary). JTK certifies the accommodation, not the furniture, so a “JTK-approved locker” in a listing only means its compartment is big enough. Check the inside dimensions yourself.

What the table tells you
- Hostels: only the two-door models, FBA-202W and FBB-202, give every worker a compartment that meets the 0.35 × 0.35 × 0.9 m minimum. The three-column models are 272 mm wide inside, and the four- and eight-door models are too short.
- Factory changing rooms and line entry: the hostel rule does not apply there, so choose by what people store. Overalls and boots need full height (FBB-202 or FBB-303). Phones, wallets and keys fit the 8- to 15-door banks, which cost RM261.89 to RM382.92 per door.
- Space: every grey bank takes the same 900 mm of wall and 515 mm of depth. In that same space an FBB-202 serves 2 people and an FBB-315 serves 15.
Why Tanko costs more than a typical office locker
Local office-furniture lockers on Google Shopping in October 2026 run from about RM200 to RM900 a unit. Tanko runs RM261.89 to RM1,060.40 per door. The compartment count is the decision: 1 to 18 depending on headcount per shift.
Ventilation is not an optional extra in Malaysia
A sealed steel locker in this climate is a humidity trap. Damp overalls and boots go in at the end of a shift, the door closes on 80% relative humidity, and by the following week you have the smell, then the rust, then the complaint.
