Stainless is not a finish on these benches, it is the working surface. A 1.2mm stainless top takes daily washdown, food acids and disinfectant without staining, and it has no laminate seam for anything to get behind — which is the whole argument in a food, pharma or laboratory audit.

The alternative fails in a specific way. A laminate top survives the chemicals but not the seam: water works under the edge strip, the substrate swells, and the lifted edge becomes the thing the auditor photographs. A painted steel top chips, and every chip is a corrosion site in Malaysian humidity.
