A solid wood top can be planed flat again when it gets chewed up, which over ten years is worth more than a surface that looks perfect for two years and then has to be replaced. Rated at 100kg — sized for assembly, inspection and light bench work rather than fabrication. Fitted as specified, a perforated back panel puts the tools in reach and off the work surface; and the shelf takes the instruments and paperwork that otherwise colonise the bench.
